Imagery - imagery consists of descriptive words and phrases that recreate sensory experiences.

Flashback - an account of a conversation, an episode, or event that happened before the beginning of a story
Day 3
Symbolism - person, place, an object or an activity that stands for something beyond its self. Example: In the Godfather movies, any time you see any orange or the color orange, someone is probably going to be killed.
Day 4
Allegory - a work with two levels of meanings; a literal one and a symbolic one.
Example: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis is a religious allegory with Aslan as Christ and Edmund as Judas.

Day 5
Satire - literary technique in which ideas, customs, behaviors, or institutions are ridiculed for the purpose of improving society. Example: The Scary Movie series is a satire of horror movies.
